The Colombo port is the largest and busiest Port in Sri Lanka. The Port has four container terminals with two more under construction, and currently boasts of over 6,000 meters of quay, including fourteen container berths and four feeder berths, a dedicated passenger jetty, and two liquid bulk discharging berths. The Port handles almost any type of cargo, including Ro-Ro, containerized, break bulk, dry bulk and liquid bulk. Over 300 vessels call at the Colombo Port every month, including several cruise liners.
The strategic location of the Colombo Port means that the OPL and anchorage areas are frequently used for Bunkering, crew changes, provision supplies and underwater repairs.
